 Dear Antelope Island Balloon & Kite Stampede Attendee:
Welcome to this exciting new adventure sponsored by the
Davis Chamber of Commerce. With the support of Utah State Parks, Davis County and the
Davis Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Labor day Weekend promises to be an exciting
time on Antelope Island. The Antelope
Island Balloon & Kite Stampede is September 4th to 6th, 2009. WATCH VIDEOS
 This year's Stampede promises to strengthen
our community and draw a new demographic to Davis County
and Antelope Island. Hot Air Ballooning is a fun and intriguing sport for
participants and viewers alike, appealing to thousands. This year, we have added kites to the lineup. Professional kite flyers and hobbyists will put on aerial demonstrations. These intricate kites are not only huge, but flying them is an art. You may bring your own kites to fly on the island in a designated area, as well. Read more about kite flying. It will be a dazzling display with both hot air balloons and kites on the island!
Antelope Island is a unique venue for all. Preliminary
flights and visits by Balloonists assure strong support from the balloonist
community. The island, with its many features, including mass media such
as Ogden Publishing Corporation, will
all join to draw a large audience from not only Davis County but the entire
intermountain region.
The event is family-friendly priced at only $10.00 per personal
vehicle which includes the Park entrance fee.
The Stampede will host a variety of vendor booths, all of which promise
to excite attendees as well as vendors. The Audience Research and Economic
Impact Study conducted for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta reported 91.6%
of attendees have a positive attitude toward balloon event vendors. Even
more important, 67.1% of attendees reported being "more likely to purchase"
from balloon event vendors. We expect a similar response from attendees at
the Antelope Island Balloon & Kite Stampede.
